It's a tough dish to find where we live, so I investigated and found a restaurant whose chef was willing to make it, even though it wasn't on the menu. Then I took my husband there for a delicious surprise. Now he can't stop talking about that." --Michele, 30, Hauppauge, NY "I buy him flowers, which I think represent love and romance regardless of whether it's a man or woman who's giving them. He says it brightens his day, and never fails to remind me that no one else ever did this for him." --Name withheld "Normally my husband will come home to a circus -- kids running around. But one night I tucked everyone in early, and my husband opened the door to the delicious sound of silence.
En Q: What is the verdict of greeting the disbelievers for christmas? How should we reply if they greeted us for it? And is it allowed to go to parties which are held for this occasion? Is it a sin if one did one of the those things without a previous intention and just as a compliment or out of shyness or embaressment or for any other reason? And is it allowed to immitate them in this matter?
Advisor: Mohammad Ibn Saleh Al-Othaimayn
Ans.:Greeting the disbelievers for Christmas or for any other religious feast of theirs is banned(Haram) (agreed upon), as copied by Ibn Al-Qayem(God bless his soul), in his book; "Verdicts of custody owners"; "as for greeting for disbelief related features, it is banned (agreed upon), which is as greeting them for their feasts and fasting as in saying "A blessed feast for you" or "enjoy this feast" and what is similar to that. Even if the talker has been saved from disbelief, it would still be banned as it is by wishing him "a blessed peace for you" as in greeting him for "sojood" to the cross, which is a bigger sin to God and more hated than greeting someone for drinking alcohols or killing a soul or committing the sinful obscenity and what is similar to that. And there are many of those who do not know much about religion that would fall for this mistake without realising how bad their action has been, as who greets a human being for a sin or an orthodoxy or a disbelief is facing God's anger and hatred" His words end here may God bless his soul. Greeting the disbelievers for their religious feasts is banned and as sinful as described by Ibn El-Qayem as it includes an admission of what they practice of disbelief features and an acceptance of it for them. And even if one does not accept this disbelief for his own self, yet it is still banned for a Muslim to accept the disbelief features or to greet others for them, as God does not accept that and as God said "If you disbelieve, then God does not need you and does not accept disbelief for his servants. And if you thank Him, He accepts"(Al-Zomor(7)) and God also said "Today I have fulfilled for you your religion and set all my blessings over you and have accepted Islam a religion for you"(Al-Ma'eda(3)) And greeting them for this occasion is banned, whether they share business with the talker or not! And if they greet us for their feasts, we don't reply to them for that; because these are not feasts for us, as they are feasts that God The Almighty does not accept, since they are either invented in their religion or certified yet were deleted by the Islam religion by which Mohammad(Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) had been sent to all humans and in which it is said "He who wants other than Islam as a religion, it would not be accepted from him and in the after life, he is one of the losers"(Al-Emran(85)) And the reply of a Muslim to this greeting is banned, as this is worse than greeting them by it as it includes his sharing them in it. And it is also banned for Muslims to immitate the disbelievers by throwing parties for this occasion, or exchanging gifts or distributing sweets or food dishes or delaying work and whatever similar to that according to what The Prophet said " He who immitates a people, is one of them". The sheikh of Islam Ibn Taymeyah said in his book; "Aiming the straight way is going against the people of hell"; "Immitating them in some of their feasts brings joy to their hearts for what they are in of falacy, which might encourage them to capture chances and conquer the weak" His words end here, may God bless his soul. He who does any of that mentioned is a sinner, whether he did it as a compliment or out of friendliness or shyness or for any other reason, as this is a hypocricy in God's religion and a way of stregnthening the souls of the disbelievers and increasing their pride of their religion.

Why is a man allowed to have more than one wife in Islam? i.e. why is polygamy allowed in Islam?
Answer:
1. Definition of Polygamy Polygamy means a system of marriage whereby one person has more than one spouse. Polygamy can be of two types. One is polygyny where a man marries more than one woman, and the other is polyandry, where a woman marries more than one man. In Islam, limited polygyny is permitted; whereas polyandry is completely prohibited.
Now coming to the original question, why is a man allowed to have more than one wife?
Many Hindu religious personalities, according to their scriptures, had multiple wives. King Dashrat, the father of Rama, had more than one wife. Krishna had several wives. In earlier times, Christian men were permitted as many wives as they wished, since the Bible puts no restriction on the number of wives. It was only a few centuries ago that the Church restricted the number of wives to one. Polygyny is permitted in Judaism. According to Talmudic law, Abraham had three wives, and Solomon had hundreds of wives. The practice of polygyny continued till Rabbi Gershom ben Yehudah (960 C.E to 1030 C.E) issued an edict against it. The Jewish Sephardic communities living in Muslim countries continued the practice till as late as 1950, until an Act of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel extended the ban on marrying more than one wife. (*Interesting Note:- As per the 1975
census of India Hindus are more polygynous than Muslims. The report of
the ‘Committee of The Status of Woman in Islam’, published in 1975
mentions on page numbers 66 and 67 that the percentage of polygamous
marriages between the years 1951 and 1961 was 5.06% among the Hindus
and only 4.31% among the Muslims. According Let us now analyze why Islam allows a man to have more than one wife.
3. Qur’an permits limited polygyny “Marry women of your
choice, two, or three, or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be
able to deal justly (with them), then only one.” Before the Qur’an was revealed, there was no upper limit for polygyny and many men had scores of wives, some even hundreds. Islam put an upper limit of four wives. Islam gives a man permission to marry two, three or four women, only on the condition that he deals justly with them. In the same chapter i.e. Surah Nisa verse 129 says: Therefore polygyny is not a rule but an
exception. Many people are under the misconception that it is
compulsory for a Muslim man to have more than one wife. Polygyny falls in the middle category of things that are permissible. It cannot be said that a Muslim who has two, three or four wives is a better Muslim as compared to a Muslim who has only one wife
4. Average **** span of females is more than that of males During wars, there are more men killed as compared to women. More men die due to accidents and diseases than women. The average **** span of females is more than that of males, and at any given time one finds more widows in the world than widowers.
5. India has more male population than female due to female the high rate of female infanticide in India, and the fact that more than one million female foetuses are aborted every year in this country, after they are identified as females. If this evil practice is stopped, then India too will have more females as compared to males.
6. World female population is more than male population
7. Restricting each and every man to have only one wife is not Most women would not like to share their husband with other women. But in Islam when the situation deems it really necessary Muslim women in due faith could bear a small personal loss to prevent a greater loss of letting other Muslim sisters becoming 'public properties'.
8. Marring a married man preferable to becoming 'public property' Thus the only two options before a woman who cannot find a husband is to marry a married man or to become 'public property'. Islam prefers giving women the honorable position by permitting the first option and disallowing the second. There are several other reasons, why Islam has permitted limited polygyny, but it is mainly to protect the modesty of women. November 05 .

October 09 Understanding IslamWhat is Islam ? Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith.
Who are the Muslims? One billion people from a vast range of races, nationalities and cultures across the globe - from the southern Philippines to Nigeria - are united by their common Islamic faith. About 18% live in the Arab world; the world's largest Muslim community is in Indonesia; substantial parts of Asia and most of Africa are Muslim, while significant minorities are to be found in the Soviet Union, China, North and South America, and Europe.
What do Muslims believe? Muslims believe in One, Unique, Incomparable God; in the Angels created by Him; in the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgement and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over human destiny and in life after death. Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel. How does someone become a Muslim? Simply by saying 'there is no god apart from God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.' By this declaration the believer announces his or her faith in all God's messengers, and the scriptures they brought.
What does 'Islam' mean? The Arabic word 'Islam' simply means 'submission', and derives from a word meaning 'peace'. In a religious context it means complete submission to the will of God. 'Mohammedanism' is thus a misnomer because it suggests that Muslims worship Muhammad rather than God. 'Allah' is the Arabic name for God, which is used by Arab Muslims and Christians alike.
Why does Islam often seem strange? Islam may seem exotic or even extreme in the modern world. Perhaps this is because religion does not dominate everyday life in the West today, whereas Muslims have religion always uppermost in their minds, and make no division between secular and sacred. They believe that the Divine Law, the Shari'a, should be taken very seriously, which is why issues related to religion are still so important.

September 01 ALLAH
Where Does the word "Allah" Come From? Allah" comes from the Arabic word "elah" - (Arabic)
means 'a god' or something that is worshipped. This word (elah) can be
made plural, as in "aleha" and it can be male or female. "Allah" comes from "elaha" but it brings more clarification and understanding.
Allah = Has no gender (not male and not female) * "He" is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender Allah = Always singular - Never plural * "We" is used only as the "Royal WE" just as in English for royalty Allah =Means "The Only One to be Worshipped" Is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?
"Allah" is the same word used by Christian and Jewish Arabs in the Bible, before Islam came. On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allah" seventeen [17] times.
"Allah" - FAQ The questions atheists usually ask regarding our belief in Allah or God, vary somewhat but, they are predictable. Let us consider a few:
